Ms. Pepper Muir

Hello, I am Ms. Muir and I love being on the 6th Grade Team at Lakeside. I want to get to know each of you and watch your growth during 6th grade. I will be teaching English and History this year.

Here is a little bit about me. I have an 20-year old son named Maverick, who loves roller coasters and he graduated from West Ranch High School in Santa Clarita. Our family lived in Santa Clarita for 20 years, but I made the move to Bakerfield three years ago to begin a new chapter and join the Lakeside team. I have enjoyed coaching multiple sports for Special Olympics Santa Clarita Valley and I really love sports in general (especially baseball, football and hockey), listening to music, singing, painting, creating fun activities for my students, and hanging out with friends and family by the pool or at the beach.

I have a BA from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas and an MFA from UCLA. I also hold a California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential as well as a Single Subject Teaching Credential in English.

I have a huge 15 year old cat named Monty, a younger cat we adopted almost 5 years ago named Roar, and a small 9 year old dog named Buffett. They all love each other very much and don't seem to understand that they are not the same species! (Shhh! Don't tell them.)

We have so much to learn in the 6th grade. Even though this school year will be different than our traditional school year experience, I am looking forward to getting our year started off with loads of fun and learning! We are all learning how to be distance learning experts together! ;-)

You can contact me at pmuir@lakesideusd.org if you have any questions or concerns.

JUST A NOTE: I will be available in our Canvas platform during distance learning school hours Monday-Friday or I will always try to answer your email questions in a timely manner, however, if you email me after 3:30 pm on a school night or over the weekend, I will likely respond either the followingschool day or on the Monday after the weekend in most cases. Thanks for understanding.
